Experience
Patricia Starner has more than 20 years of appellate experience, having served as a staff attorney to Chief Justice Emeritus Ronald Castille of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania from 1996 to 2014, and current Chief Justice Saylor from 2014 to 2016. Ms. Starner drafted dozens of majority and responsive opinions and reviewed and made recommendations to the Court on thousands of petitions for allowance of appeal.
Ms. Starner also worked at Philadelphia law firms before joining the Court, including Leonard, Sciolla, Hutchison, Leonard & Tinari, where she focused on medical malpractice defense.
Education
Ms. Starner received her undergraduate degree in French Literature from Rosemont College. She earned a Juris Doctor at Syracuse University College of Law, where she served as the Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review and was awarded a teaching fellowship in Legal Writing and Advocacy.
